Watch our overview video on the book of 1 Samuel, which breaks down the literary design of the book and its flow of thought. In 1 Samuel, God reluctantly raises up kings to rule the Israelites. The first is a failure, and the second, David, is a faithful replacement.

  2. God created all nations and then he picked the Israeli as his beloved pets so he became the God of Israel only.
    What an unfair .

  3. I really injoy this format. I look at your video before I read certain books of the bible to help me link it all together. Then when I read, it all becomes more clear.
I hope you will make more and more of these videos! Lord Bless ya!! =KL=

  4. FATHER IS THE SON
    🗣: “Who are you?”
    Jesse: “I am David’s son.”👨‍🦲
    🗣: “And, who are you?”
    David: “I am Jesse’s father”👨‍👦
    🗣: “And, who are you?”
    David: “I am Israel’s king.”🤴
    🗣: “And, who are you?”
    Jesse: “I am Israel’s king’s father.”👨‍👦
🗣: “So Jesse is the father and the son & David is the son and the father.?.”
(Samuel inquired of Jesse if he had any other sons. Jesse told him that David the youngest was tending the flock. The prophet then asked for him to be brought in from tending the sheep. Samuel waited, and when he arrived God asked the prophet to anoint David as king over Israel. 1 Samuel 16:13)
(At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. Matthew 14:11)
    SON IS THE FATHER

  5. These people seem real. Relatable. We all have character flaws. Humbly ask God to remove them but it appears this also is a process of us tugging at the bit, fighting the bridle….maybe. God uses us despite ourselves…gets wearisome..Sometimes my heart goes out to the Jews and I don't blame them for getting sick of the crap they have endured….And manna in the desert for 40 years. Camping, dirty dusty, the rigors of life and everything else.. Who wouldn't complain? The more I learn and read, the more questions and deeper I wonder about all this history. Makes me sad.

  6. lol Saul has character flaws??? (reference 4:10)
    dishonest?
    lacks integrity?

sounds like literally every king in history (except Jesus who is comin back) and most of Congress

i can see why they chose him, he must of had the looks and the empty promises of lying lips. he was the archetype of politician

  7. 2:45 is NOT true. They didn’t get arrogant. God wanted to punish the house of Eli for what his sons did, so He let Israel get defeated and in the process, Eli’s 2 sons were killed.

  8. What about David's time servicing the Philistine king? And him marching on the Israelite army at Mount Gilboa? And the fact that Saul committed suicide by falling down on his own sword? What about David being Saul's armor-bearer and harp/lyre-player??

  9. This is good but it's important for you to focus on the facts and refrain from placing your interpretation.

There are some things you did not quite get right here.

While I appreciate you are trying to enlighten the listener, trust that the Holy spirit will do the job that he specifically came to do, and don't try and help the process along, if you get what I mean.

    Bless
